Privacy Policy

Introduction
DevToolsBuilder is a developer-focused product (JSON tooling first, with more utilities over time). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our site and tools. The short version: we collect minimal data, most standard tools run locally in your browser, and any tool that requires server processing tells you that clearly before you use it.
How Our Tools Process Data
Our standard in-browser tools (including most JSON validators, converters, merge/diff utilities, and related developer helpers) process data locally within your web browser using JavaScript unless a specific tool clearly states otherwise. In practice, this means:
- •Most standard JSON tool actions stay on your device and do not transmit payloads to our servers
- •When a feature requires server processing, we disclose it in the tool UI and limit retention to what is operationally necessary
- •We do not use standard tool input data for analytics, advertising, or model training by us
- •Local-first flows avoid network requests entirely, while server-assisted flows are opt-in and clearly labeled
Information We May Collect
While we do not collect your JSON data, we may collect limited information for website functionality:
Automatically Collected Information
- •Analytics data: Anonymous usage statistics such as page views, referral sources, and general geographic region (country-level only)
- •Technical information: Browser type, device type, and screen resolution for optimizing user experience
Information You Provide
- •Contact information: If you reach out through our Contact page, we retain the details you provide (such as your email address and message) only as needed to respond to your inquiry
- •Server-assisted tool content: If you explicitly use a feature that requires server processing, such as optional AI JSON repair or PDF extraction, the submitted content is transmitted only for that requested operation.
Browser Storage
Some of our tools may use your browser's local storage to save preferences (such as theme settings or recent configurations). This data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to us. You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings.
Cookies
We use minimal cookies necessary for website functionality. These may include:
- •Essential cookies: Required for basic website functionality and security
- •Analytics cookies: Help us understand how visitors use the website (if analytics are enabled)
Third-Party Services
We use Google Analytics (GA4) (measurement ID G-5PQSM6MN0Y) for aggregated traffic and usage statistics. Google operates under its own privacy policy. We do not share any of your JSON or tool input data with analytics providers.
Server-Assisted Features
- •JSON Validator: Fix with AI. If you click the optional Fix with AI action, we send the JSON snippet and error context you provided to our repair endpoint and, when configured, to an AI provider to attempt a repair. Use local Auto-Fix for sensitive data.
- •PDF to JSON. PDF files are uploaded to the extraction service for processing and are automatically deleted after the retention window used by that service.
Data Security
For our local-only tools, your data stays in your browser and is not transmitted to our servers. For server-assisted features, we use HTTPS in transit and limit exposure to the systems required to complete the operation you requested.
We also apply standard browser security headers where appropriate, including Strict-Transport-Security (encouraging HTTPS-only access on future visits), Content-Security-Policy (reducing risk from malicious scripts), X-Content-Type-Options, and Referrer-Policy. Exact values may evolve as we improve the site.
Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please reach us via the Contact page.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
